VSCC Historic Driver Interviews DVD Set NOW AVAILABLE

DVD Set NOW AVAILABLE.  Read all about it......

A year’s work reached fruition recently when the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA [Inc.] recently handed over a set of gold DVD’s containing videoed interviews with thirty of the states most prominent surviving racing car drivers to the State Library for archiving and public access.

The Lotterywest funded project involved over three hundred hours work culminating in fifty hours of edited interviews by historian and club member John Napier-Winch covering WA’s extremely colourful motor racing history from the late 1940’s to the 1970’s at the numerous ‘Around the Houses’ circuits in country towns and at the Caversham circuit in the Swan Valley which the club is now working towards having permanently preserved. These tales of ingenuity in the days when the country’s fastest racing cars and the spectators were often separated only by grass are fascinating and frequently very humorous.

The  VSCC are announcing that the DVDs are now available to the public at $20.00 each, + postage if applicable, by contacting Mike Upton on 0415432975 or mupton@sa.chariot.net.au.

The twin DVD set contains excerpts from the 50+ hours of interviews the club conducted with 30 of WA's leading racing car drivers of the late 1950's and 60's relating their adventures at Caversham and at the 'Road The Houses' races in country towns.
