Newer Cars Now Eligible for All Our Events We are excited to announce that most production cars built prior to the 1st of January 2000 are now eligible to compete in our four annual regularity events including “Around the Houses” in Albany and Northam. From Alfa Romeo, Audi or Austin to Triumph, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. Including most makes in between now eligible! Some minor modifications are acceptable but as always, it is BEST TO CHECK before you prepare a vehicle for competition. A call to our Chief Scrutineer Barry Mackintosh on 0497 136 523 will steer you in the right direction. What’s Needed to Compete It’s very straightforward. Your car must be in safe and roadworthy condition.
You’ll need a Motorsport Australia licence which can be purchased from the MSA website. There’s some paperwork including regulations and entry forms. That’s about it. Buckle up and join the fun! What is Regularity Motorsport? Regularity is a precision discipline focusing on consistency rather than outright speed where participants aim to complete laps in a predetermined exact time or average speed. The goal is to minimize penalties for lapping too fast or too slow. Consistency over speed. Unlike traditional motor racing, the winner is the driver who is most accurate not necessarily the fastest. Drivers nominate a target lap time then aim to match that time as closely as possible. Because it is not about raw speed regularity is a safer, often lower cost alternative to track racing. It doesn’t matter whether your car is fast or not. Anyone can win. | The VSCC runs a variety of events though out the year. The Northam Flying Fifty is a two-day event and is traditionally held in April each year. The event encompasses a hill climb at Mt Ommanney on Saturday with the 'round the houses' re-enactment on Sunday. The Albany Classic is traditionally held over the June long weekend each year. The event takes place over two days with a hill climb at Mt Clarence on Saturday and the 'round the houses' re-enactment on Sunday. The VSCC manages a competitive hill climb championship with venues varying from year to year. The Vintage Stampede is the final major competitive event organized by the club each year. The event is typically held on the last weekend in November and gives members the opportunity to compete on a full race circuit at Wanneroo Raceway in historic or modern vehicles. Club general meetings are held on the first Monday of each month (except January). Meetings are generally well attended providing the opportunity for members to keep up to date with club business and share the their vast knowledge of the sport and its cars with other like minded enthusiasts.
